Lyah Akici, born Liliane Makamssi Akpoué Akissi, is an Ivorian singer whose journey to music grew from quiet beginnings into a steadily rising career. Raised in Côte d’Ivoire, she developed an early appreciation for sound and performance through her older brother, who studied music at the national arts institute. It was through him that she received her first guidance in vocal technique, diction, and artistic discipline lessons that planted the seeds for her future path.
Before stepping into the spotlight, Lyah worked as an archivist for a technology company in Abidjan. Although her job provided stability, her interest in music continued to grow, eventually prompting her to pursue her passion despite initial hesitations within her family. Her dedication paid off in 2015 when she released Ne m’en veux pas, the single that introduced her to audiences and marked the beginning of her professional music career.
